The Journal of Physical Activity and Health reported that physical activity can extend the life of male cancer survivors. The study was done by researchers from Harvard Medical School and Loyala University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. They concluded that men who exercised the most were the least likely to die .They adjusted for smoking, diet, and early parental death. Those that used the most calories weekly were less likely to die from any cause over the follow up time frame. The details of this study can be found in the January issue of the Journal of Physical Activity and Health.

This is just additional evidence of the importance of exercise after a cancer diagnosis. Exercise needs to be included in the treatment of cancer.
